Walking Comic

This is a comic based on a walk a friend and I did where we could only document things by writing or small sketches, It was really fun but as it was getting later my mood and energy decreased. I wanted to show this in the comic through colour starting with a light morning in pink with a darker more sleepy evening in deep blue.

Children's Book Project

This project tasked us with making a children's book based on lyrics from a song, I used Gorillaz -Rhinestone eyes. Above is a few selected pages that i really loved. All the images are done digitally aside from the boy and girl in each image. most other things are done with textures I scanned from magazines and paintings of mine.

We were tasked to create a film poster for a given movie, mine being 'Silent Running' a 1972 environmental sci-fi film. I created this in my first term of the second year of uni and wanted to post it now. The top photo is the final, though the second and third are experimental pieces that I liked.

A site design with monsters

For this project we were asked to make specification sheets for a site we will be creating, this site is for our work; an online portfolio. I had a lot of ideas for this project that i really likes but some were just too hard for me to create with the level of knowledge i have at the moment. I decided to go with a more personal website design that featured my work as a background. Heres what i came up with...

Project 2 (second year) layout exercise

For this project we had to create interesting layouts using a certain amount of photos, copy, headlines ect. This project was rather fun and we had a short amount of time to do it, I like working in a short space of time and quickly. Here are my results below

Project 1 (second year) - Show what you know

For this project we had to creat something that represented what we learnt in the first year, this could be anything we wanted. I decided to do a comic as I bought A LOT of comics in the first year. I wanted each power to be a thing I learnt and it to contain my friends Vinny and James.

I got a 52 for this project, not a bad start to the year! I feel like I could have portrayed my intentions better if I had given myself more time, I also wish I had more time to research into different comic such as classics! All in all I'm happy with the outcome but would like to print the comic given the chance.

Inky Monsters

I've been drawing a lot over summer with a dip pen, I love it so much its become a huge passion of mine. I take inspiration from children's illustrators that draw monsters such as Nicola L Robinson and Don Kenn. Ill be doing more of these in my free time as practice with my dip pen.
